We are excited to announce another donation from the Maryland Hotel Lodging Association (MHLA) to the Maryland Tourism Education Foundation (MTEF) scholarship fund. With this most recent donation, a total of $27,000 has been donated by MHLA in the past five years.

On October 6, 2021, a $7,500 check was presented to MTEF at the MHLA Annual Golf Outing, which serves as a fundraiser for the association. Canisha Pope, a 2021 MTEF scholarship recipient (pictured above) was pleased to participate in the event. Canisha anticipates graduating from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in December 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism.

MTEF is thankful for MHLA’s commitment to give back to the industry and support the future hospitality workforce through scholarships.

The 2022 scholarship application will open to candidates soon with a deadline of March 31, 2022.
